Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide and Sexual Offenses Branch announced that arrests have been made in connection with the homicide of Paul Simmons which occurred in the 3500 block of Clay Place, NE. On Saturday, November 22, 2008, members from the department’s Fugitive Unit arrested 22-year-old Antonio Bryant of Southeast Washington on a DC Superior Court Arrest Warrant charging him with First Degree Murder While Armed in the death of Mr. Simmons. On Monday, November 24, 2008, at approximately 10:45 am, a second suspect was arrested. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Keyone Antoine Jackson of Stafford, Virginia, also has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed.
On Saturday, October 4, 2008, at approximately 8:55 pm, members from the Sixth District responded to the 3500 block of Clay Place, NE, to investigate the possible report of a robbery. Upon arrival, they discovered 40-year-old Paul Simmons of the 3500 block of Clay Place, NE, suffering from apparent multiple stab wounds. He was subsequently transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead at 9:44 pm.
