The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect accused of committing a bank robbery at 1400 K Street, NW.
At approximately 9:30 am, on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, a lone male entered the PNC Bank located at 1400 K Street, NW. Once inside, the suspect reportedly passed a note demanding US Currency and stated he had a bomb. The suspect robbed the premises of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect fled the scene in a taxi cab. A short time later, this suspect was apprehended in the area of 14th and Euclid Streets, NW.
The suspect, who has been identified as 43-year-old Francis Clifton Marshall of no fixed address, was charged with Bank Robbery and Probation Violation in this case. Mr. Marshall is due to be arraigned Wednesday at the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
