Sexual Assault Suspect Sought

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect related to a sexual assault case on Southern Avenue, NE.

At approximately 7:20 am, on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, an unknown suspect approached the victim who was walking in the 6300 block of Southern Avenue, NE. The suspect subsequently sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The suspect in this case is described as a black male, who is in his late 20s to early 30s. He is approximately 5’9” in height, with a slim build, dark complexion, short hair, and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, dark blue sweater, and black pants.

Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to DC Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
