Arrest Made in the Death Investigation from the 3300 Block of 11th Place, SE

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made with respect to the death investigation of a seven year-old girl from the 3300 block of 11th Place, SE. A subsequent investigation conducted by members from the department’s Special Victims Unit has lead to the arrest of 29-year-old Carlese Hall. Ms. Hall who currently remains hospitalized with injuries sustained in connection with this case, has been charged with Felony Murder and Cruelty to Children.

On Friday, December 26, 2008, at approximately 6:30 am, after being flagged down, police responded to a residence in the 3300 block of 11th Place, SE, where a fire was discovered inside and a female child was removed from inside suffering from injuries that appeared not to be fire-related. The victim was taken to an area hospital where she was subsequently pronounced dead.

The next of kin has been notified, however; the identity of the decedent in this case is being withheld at this time pending proper identification with respect to family members.
