Second Suspect Charged in the Frank J. Elliott Murder Case

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that a second suspect has been charged in connection with the June 16, 2008 fatal shooting of Frank James Elliott. At approximately 10:05 am, on Monday, December 29, 2008, 18-year-old Dontrell Deaner, of Southeast, DC, was charged with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in the homicide of Mr. Frank J. Elliott pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.

At approximately 12:12 am on Monday, June 16, 2008, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 2300 block of Pitts Place, SE, to investigate the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying in the street at that location suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. DC Fire Department emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but were unable to find any signs consistent with life.  The victim was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene at 2:07 am by a representative from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia.

The decedent in this case was identified as 41-year-old Frank James Elliott of the 1000 block of Tanyard Drive in Tappahannock, Virginia.
