Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 1600 block of W Street, SE.
At approximately 10:14 p.m., on Saturday, February 7, 2009, members of the department’s Seventh District and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the 1600 block of W Street, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where one of the victims was subsequently pronounced dead at 12:26 am.
The decedent in this case has been identified as 25-year-old Carlton Hill, of Clinton, MD.
The identity of the other victim is being withheld at this time, because he is a potential witness in the case.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
