Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 3900 block of 14th Street, NW.
At approximately 1:01 am, on Sunday, February 8, 2009, members of the department’s Fourth District and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the 3900 block of 14th Street, NW for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where one of the victims was subsequently pronounced dead at 4:43 am.
The decedent in this case has been identified as 23-year-old Manuel Garcia, of Northwest, DC. The identity of the other victim is being withheld at this time, because he is a potential witness in the case.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
