The Metropolitan Police Department has announced the recoveries of two weapons and the arrests of two robbery suspects.

• At approximately 3:00 pm, on Thursday, March 26, 2009, members assigned to the Department’s Narcotics and Special Investigations Division were conducting an investigation in the 4300 block of Wheeler Road, SE.  As a result of the investigation, a semi-automatic assault rifle was recovered.  There was no arrest reported with this recovery.
• At approximately 2:00 am, on Friday, March 27, 2009, members assigned to the Department’s Sixth District were conducting an investigation in the 5200 block of Cloud Street, NE.  As a result of the investigation, a semi-automatic handgun was recovered.  The suspects in this case were placed under arrest and charged with Carrying a Pistol Without a License.
• At approximately 10:50 pm, Thursday, March 26, 2009, a complainant reported to members of the Department’s First District that while at the intersection of 9^th and F Streets, NW she was approached by two unknown suspects who robbed her of her personal belongings.  As a result of the quick initiative by these officers, they were able to apprehend an adult male and a juvenile male in connection with this case.  These suspects were charged with Robbery Snatch.
