The Metropolitan Police Department has announced today the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Monique C. Nalle, who was shot to death on Bryant Street, NW on April 26, 2009. On Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at approximately 5:50 am, 31-year-old Senneca Benjamin of Northeast, Washington, DC was arrested in Northeast by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Mr. Benjamin was arrested pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Murder II While Armed for the homicide of Ms. Nalle.
Shortly before 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 26, 2009, members of the Fifth District and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel responded to a residence located in the unit block of Bryant Street, NW to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered four victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, identified as 42-year-old Monique C. Nalle of the Bryant Street address, was pronounced dead on the scene by a representative of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia. Subsequently, the body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
The other three victims, adult males, were transported to area hospitals and admitted for treatment. Their identities are being withheld because they are witnesses in the case.
