Weapons Recovered from DC Streets and Robbery Suspect Apprehended

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that several weapons have been taken off the streets of the District of Columbia and a robbery suspect was apprehended.

 

At approximately 11:50 am on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, members assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District were conducting an investigation at a residence in the 1400 block of Holbrook Street, NE.  As a result of the investigation, a handgun with several live rounds of ammunition was recovered.  The suspect in this case was arrested and charged with Carrying a Pistol Without a License.

 

At approximately 7:25 pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, members assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Narcotics and Special Investigations Division were conducting a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Randall Place, NE.  As a result of the traffic stop, a handgun with several live rounds of ammunition was recovered.  The suspect in this case was placed under arrest and charged with Carrying a Pistol Without a License.

 

At approximately 2:15 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2009, members assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District were conducting a traffic stop in the Unit block of Chesapeake Street, SW.  As a result of the traffic stop, several weapons with live rounds of ammunition were recovered.  The suspect in this case was placed under arrest and charged with Weapon Related Charges.

 

At approximately 9:40 pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, a complainant reported to members assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District that while in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, NW an unknown suspect approached him and displayed a handgun.  The suspect then proceeded to take the complainant’s property and fled the scene.  As a result of the quick initiative by the officers, they were able to make an apprehension.  The suspect in this case was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
