The Metropolitan Police Department announced today a suspect has been arrested in connection with a double shooting that occurred on Thursday, June 18, 2009 in the area of 14th and Irving Streets, NW.

The suspect, who has been identified as 19-year-old Devyn Lamar Black, faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

On Thursday June 18, 2009, shortly after 3 pm, members of the Third District responded to a call for a shooting at the corner of 14th and Irving Streets NW. Upon arrival, members discovered an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. A second male victim was located in the 3000 block of 14th Street NW also suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to area hospitals. Their identities are being withheld at this time, as they are witnesses in this case.
