Homicide on Hunt Place, NE

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Hunt Place, NE.

 

On Friday, October 30, 2009, at approximately 4:30 am, officers from the Sixth District responded to a call for a shooting at 46th Street and Hunt Place, NE. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male lying in an alley alongside the 4400 block of Hunt Place, NE. The victim was unconscious and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department responded to the scene but were unable to find signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia. He has been identified as 24-year-old Robert Aren Eagleman Jr. of the 1400 block of Early Oaks Lane in Capitol Heights, Md.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to DC CRIME SOLVERS at 1-866-411-TIPS and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
