The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in the murder of Jason Antonio Harris, which occurred in August of 2008.  On Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at approximately 2:12 pm, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 29-year-old Kendall Andre Chandler of  Southeast, DC.  Mr. Chandler was arrested, without incident, and then was transported to the Homicide Branch for processing.  He has been charged with Murder II While Armed in connection with the death of Mr. Harris.

Shortly before 11:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2008, officers assigned to the Seventh District responded to the 1300 block of Morris Road, SE to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male in the rear of an apartment building suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Jason Antonio Harris of Temple Hills, Maryland, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:15 am.
