Pedestrian Traffic Fatality at Washington Circle at 23rd Street, NW

Investigators assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding a traffic crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian, which occurred at Washington Circle at 23rd Street, NW on the morning of April 6, 2010.

On Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at approximately 10:55 am, a 2000 GMC Yukon was traveling eastbound around Washington Circle at 23rd Street, NW, and collided with a pedestrian. 

The pedestrian was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel to George Washington Hospital and immediately taken into surgery.  The female pedestrian, who has been identified as Anh Dao Huynh of Arlington, VA was pronounced dead at 2:30 pm.

The driver of the Yukon was not physically injured.

The investigation is ongoing.  No further information is available at this time.
