Arrest Made in Homicide in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE.

 

On Sunday, September 12, 2010 shortly after 1 am, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arriving, they discovered a victim lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the decedent and a subject were involved in an altercation and this same subject apparently had been shot as well. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had arrived at a local area hospital with a gunshot wound.

 

The victim has been identified as 31 year-old Laroy Bryant of Hartford Street, SE. The suspect has been identified as 36 year-old Katrell Austin Henry of Southeast, Washington, DC.

 

Mr. Henry was arrested and charged with first degree murder while armed.
