Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 4400 Block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
On Saturday, September 25, 2010, at approximately 1:55 am, Fourth District officers were dispatched to the area of Georgia Avenue and Allison Street, Northwest, to investigate the sounds of gunshots.
Upon their arrival, officers located a male victim lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he subsequently was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 19 year-old David Weston of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.

If the information provided by the caller to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
