Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2700 block of Langston Place, SE.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at approximately 10:00 pm, while on patrol, officers from the Seventh District heard sounds of gunshots.  The officers then canvassed the area and discovered an adult male victim on the sidewalk of the 2700 block of Langston Place, SE suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Prince George’s Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s remains will be transported to the Maryland Medical Examiner Office pending an autopsy.  

The victim in the case has been identified as 37-year-old Darnell Lucas of Capital Heights, MD.
