Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a double shooting that resulted in a fatality.
On Sunday, December 19, 2010, at approximately 3:30 am, units from the Fifth District responded to the area of Bladensburg Road and Queens Chapel Road, NE, to investigate the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2100 block of Bladensburg Road, NE.
Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and found one of the victims unconscious, unresponsive, and without any vital signs consistent with life. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The decedent has been identified as 29-year-old Aaron Woodfork.
The second victim, whose identity is being withheld, was transported and admitted to an area hospital.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
