Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2200 block of Savannah Street, SE.

On Monday, April 30, 2012, at approximately 11:42am, members of the Seventh District responded to the 2200 block of Savannah Street, SE for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 27 year-old Sandy Greene III of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
