Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the 1998 double homicide in the 1400 of block of Euclid Street, NW.
On Friday, May 1, 1998, at approximately 2:00 am, members of the Third District responded to the 1400 block of Euclid Street NW for the report of gunshots. Upon arrival on the scene, they found two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined both had no signs of life. Both victims were pronounced dead by a member of the Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
The decedents in this case are identified as 21-year-old Che Chamberlain, and 40-year old Joseph Willis Tollerson.
On Friday, May 4, 2012, at approximately 9:00 am, members from the Cold Case/Major Case Unit, arrested 38 year-old Gezo Edwards, of Northwest, DC and charged him with two counts of Murder One while Armed in the deaths of Che Chamberlain and Joseph Willis Tollerson. The suspect is presently incarcerated at DC Jail, for unrelated charges.
