Information Sought in Incidents Involving Minors

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth Investigations Division are investigating what are believed to be related reports of an adult white male attempting to entice minors. Police are asking anyone who has had similar interactions to contact police.

  • On Friday, April 27, 2012, police received complaints of fliers being distributed in the American University Park neighborhood offering tutoring services to boys.
  • On Monday, August 6, 2012, a complaint was received regarding a Mount Pleasant neighborhood resident, who was allegedly in the possession of child pornography.
  • On Tuesday, August 7, 2012, a nude adult male reportedly made overtures to three juveniles in the swimming pool locker room at Wilson High School.
  • On Wednesday, August 8, 2012, a male juvenile reported that he was walking in the 4800 block of 36th Street NW, when a male in a vehicle followed him and repeatedly offered him a ride. The vehicle was described as a blue, four-door Chevrolet.

We are concerned there may have been other incidents that have not been reported. We are urging anyone who has information about these or similar incidents to contact Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, the Youth Investigations Division at 202-576-6768 or 911.
