AWIK Suspect Sought

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with the February 16, 2000 shooting of a 17-year-old female. The victim, whose identity is being withheld because she is a potential witness in the case, was shot in the head as the result of an argument while in the 1300 block of First Street, SW. At this time, she remains in guarded condition at an area hospital.

The investigation being conducted by First District detectives has resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant charging the suspect in this case with Assault With Intent to Kill (AWIK) While Armed. The suspect is identified Marco Moore.

Moore (pictured here) is described as a black male, 20 years of age, 6'1" tall, weighing 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to operate an older model gray Lincoln and a black Nissan Stanza. Marco Moore should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows his whereabouts should take no direct action, but call First District detectives at 202-727-4596 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777.

All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and a caller need not give his or her name. If the information provided to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
