Fatal Shooting on Bellvue Street, SE

At approximately 11:58 on the morning of Sunday, December 27, 1998, a member of the Metropolitan Police Department found an unidentified male in the 900 block of Bellevue Street SE, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head lying on the sidewalk. DCFD emergency medical technicians were then summoned to the scene.

The victim, who has been identified as 21-year-old Marlon Romale Mittchell of the 800 block of Barnaby Street, SE, was transported to DC General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:53 pm.

The case is under investigation by members of the Department's Homicide Branch.

All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and a caller need not give his/her name. A caller who provides information through the Crime Solvers Unit which leads to an arrest and indictment in this case will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
