At approximately 7:48 pm on Wednesday, November 17, 1999, officers from the Seventh District were called to the 2400 block of Elvans Road, SE for the sound of gunshots. Upon their arrival they discovered the body of 19-year-old Samuel Walker, Jr., of the 2500 block of Pomeroy Road, SE, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to D.C. General Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:07 pm.
