Suspects Sought in Year Old Fatal Hit and Run

It was a year ago today when 44-year-old S. Goodluck Tembunkiart was killed as the result of a hit and run accident. He is survived by a wife and two children, ages 2 and 10.

It was approximately 12:05 am on Monday, September 21, 1998, when Mr. Tembunkiart was driving his 1989 Honda Accord. While at the intersection of Nevada Avenue and Legation Street, NW, his car was struck by a Cadillac Deville occupied by two males. The two men, only described as black males, fled the scene on foot. The Cadillac had been stolen from Hyattsville, Maryland.

The case remains open and police are still asking for the public's assistance in providing any information which may possibly identify the persons responsible.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Unit at 202-727-1698 or the Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777.

All calls to Crime Solvers are confidential and a caller need not give his or her name. If the information provided to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
