Fatal Shooting on 12th Place NE

Shortly after 1:00 this afternoon, police and DCFD emergency medical personnel responded to the 200 block of 12th Place, NE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds seated inside of a motor vehicle. Emergency medical personnel could find no life signs.

The victim was transported to the D.C. Medical Examiner's Office where he was officially pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of his next-of-kin.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the Fifth District . Anyone with information about this case is asked to call detectives at 202-727-4504 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777 .

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
