Homicide Suspect Arrested

At approximately 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2000, an employee of the "Wonderful Carryout," located in the 5300 block of Sheriff Road in Fairmont Heights, Maryland, was robbed of food he was delivering and stabbed in the chest while at 52nd and Jay Streets, N.E. The employee, identified as 41-year-old Hong Guang Gao, of the 700 block of 6th Street, NW, managed to drive back to the restaurant before collapsing behind the wheel of the vehicle. He was taken to Prince George's County Hospital where he died of his wound.

At approximately 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2000, Sixth District detectives arrested a 17-year-old Northeast Washington juvenile, without incident, in the 900 block of Division Avenue, N.E. He was charged with Murder One While Armed.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are seeking additional suspects. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Sixth District detectives at 202-727-4515 or the D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
