At approximately 3:05 am on Sunday, June 26, 2005, Third District officers on routine patrol, upon hearing gunshots, responded to the 1800 block of 8th Street, NW. Upon arrival they located a 23-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. He was taken to an area hospital and admitted in serious but stable condition. A second man, identified as 24-year-old Antre-vyn Mason-Black, of the 9600 block of Gwyndale Drive in Clinton, Maryland, was found in a car suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body. DC Fire Department emergency medial personnel responded to the scene but found no signs consistent with life. Mr. Mason-Black was taken to the Office of the DC Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.
Officers on the scene broadcast a look out for a vehicle seen speeding from the area. A vehicle matching the description of the car was later stopped by police at Massachusetts Avenue and 4th Street, NW. Three men were taken into custody and a handgun recovered from the vehicle.
Early this morning, Monday, June 27, 2005, all three subjects were charged with Murder One While Armed and Carrying a Pistol Without a License. They are identified as 26-year-old Davon Williams of the 1600 block of 16th Street, SE, 24-year-old Raymond Brown of the 1500 block of Ridge Place, SE, and 29-year-old Devon Robinson of the 1900 block of 14th Street, SE. All three are expected to be arraigned today.
