At approximately 8:30 pm on July 22, 2005, officers from the Sixth District responded to the 500 block of 59th Street, NE, to investigate the report of shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a juvenile male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The victim who has been identified as 14-year-old Dominic Page of the 5600 block of Eads Street, NE, was transported to the Prince George's Community General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation into this case reveals that the victim was reportedly with a group of males in an alley in the 500 block of 59th Street, NE, when someone in the group apparently discharged a firearm, subsequently striking the victim in the chest. A handgun has been recovered from the scene.
The above case was closed on Saturday, July 23, 2005, with the arrest of 18-year-old James Edward Williams, of the 500 block of 60th Street, NE. He has been charged with Manslaughter While Armed.
