At approximately 11:50 pm, on Monday, April 19, 2004, police were called to the 1400 block of Montello Avenue, NE, for the report of the sound of gunshots. Upon arrival they located 27-year-old Damon Lamont Clark, of the 800 block of 21^st Street, NE, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit and pronounced dead at 2:26 am.

The above case was closed with the arrest of 24-year-old Cotey Wynn of the 1100 block of Neal Street, NE.  He was charged with Murder One while Armed.
