Homicide at 4618 Livingston Road, SE

At approximately 10:30 pm, on Friday, August 26, 2005, fire fighters were called to an apartment located at 4618 Livingston Road, SE. Upon entering they located the body of 30-year-old Michael Duane Carter, of the Livingston Road address, in an unconscious condition. His body had been on fire at some point but the fire had apparently  extinguished itself before fire fighters arrived. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

 

The exact cause of death is pending an autopsy by the DC Medical Examiner but the case is being investigated as a homicide.

 

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
