At approximately 3:14 this morning, Tuesday, August 31, 2004, police were called to the 4500 block of Benning Road, NE, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival they located 18-year-old Charles A. Buckes, of no fixed address, suffering from a gunshot wound to the body. He was taken to the Prince George?s County Hospital and pronounced dead.
The case is under investigation by members of the department?s Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.
The department offers a reward of up to TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
