Homicide at 1629 E Street, NE

At approximately 1:55 am, on Saturday, October 15, 2005, Metropolitan Police were called to the rear of 1629 E Street, NE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, police located two victims, one suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.  That victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  The second victim, identified as 38-year-old James Michael Campbell, of the 800 block of New Corony Court in Severn, Maryland, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit and pronounced dead at 2:36 am.

 

The case is under investigation by members of the department's Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
