The
Metropolitan Police Department is requesting to enlist the aid of the
public in attempting to identify a woman that has been admitted to an
area hospital.
At approximately 4:00 this afternoon a woman was observed jogging in the
6600 block of Barnaby Street, NW. During the course of her activity the
woman apparently collapsed and fell to the ground. Emergency medical personnel
responded to the scene where the woman was transported in an unconscious
condition to Sibley Memorial
Hospital . She has been admitted in critical condition.
At this time the woman remains unidentified. She is described as a white
female, possibly between 19 and 23 years of age, 5'11" tall, with
long brown hair and green eyes. She was dressed in a blue T-shirt and
blue jogging style shorts. At the time that she was discovered, the woman
was not carrying any form of personal identification.

** UPDATE - 08/28/00 **
Woman identified as a result of Second District officers canvassing the
neighborhood with photos of the hospitalized woman and her clothing. At
4:30pm on Saturday, August 26, the woman was identified as 27-year old
LYNSEY LUKE, of the 6400 Block of Barnaby Street, NW. Her condition has
been upgraded from critical to serious.

At this time the woman remains unidentified. A more detailed description
of the woman finds that she is approximately 5'11" tall and weighs
138 lbs. She was wearing Adidas size 9 sneakers, gray, blue, and teal
in color. She was also wearing a blue T-shirt with the letters "UMC"
on the front with additional lettering underneath. She has an abrasion
on her right knee and an arthroscopic scar on her left knee. Both of her
ears are pierced and her toe nails are painted with pink colored nail
polish.
