Homicide in the 2200 Block of 23rd Street, SE

At approximately 11:30 pm, on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, Mettroplitan Police were called to the 2200 block of 23rd Street, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival officers located 26-year-old Carlos Phillips, of the 2200 block of Savannah Street, SE, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene but could find no signs consistent with life. The victim was subsequently transported to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

 

The case is under investigation by members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
