At approximately 2:50 am on Sunday, June 12, 2005, police were called to the 1000 block of Harvard Street, NW, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival they located two men lying in front of 1012 Harvard Street, NW, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One of the men, 20-year-old Javelle Poindexter of the 700 block of Harvard Street, NW, was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body.  He was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit and pronounced dead. The second man, 19-year-old Antonio Alston of the 600 block of Keefer Place, NW, was suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body.  He was taken to the Howard University Hospital and pronounced dead.

The above case was closed on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, with the arrest of 18-year-old Lorenzo Woods of the 1300 block of Belmont Street, NW.  He was charged with two counts of Murder One while Armed.
