Assault Victim Dies

On Saturday, January 21, 2006, at approximately 3 am, a victim was assaulted in the 2300 block of 18th Street, NW. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Marc Jonathan Ficarra, of the 600 block of Romford Drive in Hyattsville, Maryland, was admitted to the Washington Hospital Center in critical condition until his death.  He was pronounced dead at 12:45 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2006. 

 

Reportedly, Ficarra was assaulted by three male suspects following a verbal altercation. 

A 25-year-old male and a 21-year-old female were also assaulted during this same incident.  They went to an area hospital via private vehicles and were treated and released.  Their identities are being withheld because they are witnesses in the case

 

One of the suspects is described as a medium complexioned black male with a slim build, about 5?8? tall, 20 ? 30 years old, wearing a blue hooded shirt, a blue jacket and blue jeans.  The other two suspects are described only black males, who are believed to be in their twenties.

 

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to Metropolitan Police Department's Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call 202-727-9099.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
