Homicide at 1632 V Street, SE

At approximately 4:15 am, on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, Metropolitan Police were called to an apartment building at 1632 V Street, SE, for the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, police located 34-year-old Burchell Jones, of the 3300 block of Wheeler Road, SE, in the first floor stairwell; he was suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head.  DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene, but could find no signs consistent with life.  He was taken to the DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and pronounced dead.

 

The case is under investigation by members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at (202) 727-9099.

 

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
