On Friday, July 8, 2005, Prince George's County Fire Department members were called for the report of a car fire in the unit block of Yeoman Place in Capitol Heights, Maryland.  Upon extinguishing the flames they discovered the body 24-year-old John Wren, of the 2300 block of Hartford Street, SE, in the trunk of the vehicle. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  He was taken to the State of Maryland Chief Medical Examiner's Office and pronounced dead.

On April 16, 2006, as part of an ongoing joint investigation by members of the Prince George's County Police Department and Metropolitan Police Department, information was developed which indicated that the murder occurred in the 4600 block of East Capitol Street, SE. The body and vehicle were then taken to Capitol Heights, Maryland, where the vehicle was set ablaze. 

On Thursday, April 20, 2006, as part of the ongoing joint investigation, members of the MPDC's Violent Crimes Branch arrested 39-year-old Todd Patrick Jackson, of no fixed address, and charged him with Accessory After the Fact in connection with this case. The investigation is continuing, and additional suspect(s) are being sought.
