Fatal Shooting on Congress Street, SE

On Monday, March 19, 2001, at approximately 7:19 p.m., officers of the Seventh District and DCFD medical personnel responded to the 1300 block of Congress Street, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, units located an unidentified male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as 19-year-old Andre Thomas Wilson of the 1300 block of Congress Street, SE, was transported to D.C. General Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. On Tuesday, March 20, 2001 Mr. Wilson was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives of the Seventh District . Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call detectives at 202-698-1276 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777.

The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
