On Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at approximately 3:07 pm, Metropolitan Police and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were summoned to northbound Interstate 295, one-quarter of a mile before the South Capitol Street exit, to investigate the report of an unconscious adult black male. Upon arrival, they located a male who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and lying alongside the roadway. Emergency medical technicians could find no life signs.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of his next-of-kin, was later transported by morgue wagon to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, where he was officially pronounced dead. .

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
