Fatal Shooting on Irving Street, NW

On Saturday, June 24, 2006, at approximately 7 pm, police and DCFD emergency medical personnel were summoned to the 700 block of Irving Street, NW, to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.

The victim, identified as 38-year-old Don Louis, of Flushing, New York, was transported to the Washington Hospital Center's MedSTAR Unit where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 pm.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the department?s Violent Crimes Branch.  Anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to call (202) 727-9099.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
