Assault Suspect Sought

The Metro Transit Police and the Metropolitan Police are seeking the public's assistance to help identify and locate a suspect being sought for Assault on a Police Officer.

At approximately 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 a Metro Transit police officer was conducting a traffic stop of a vehicle parked in the bus lane of the Anacostia Metro Station located at 1101 Howard Road, SE. At some point the driver of the car reportedly struck the officer with the vehicle when he fled the scene. The officer received minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a black male in his early twenties, 5'10" tall, thin build, medium complexioned with braided hair. He was wearing a black jacket. He was in the company of a black female described as being 25 years-old, 5'10" with long braided hair. She was wearing a bright red cloth jacket or sweater. The vehicle is described as a black 1994 to 1996 four-door Chevrolet Impala SS with dark tinted windows. The car was last seen bearing stolen DC tags (DC 200MML).

All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and callers need not give their names. If the information provided by a caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
