The
Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public's assistance to help
locate an escapee.
Late Tuesday night Third
District officers arrested 19 year-old Montrell Norris Thomas,
of the 200 block of Rhode Island Avenue, NW, and charged him as a Fugitive
From Justice who was wanted by Montgomery County authorities on an arrest
warrant charging Armed Robbery.
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning Thomas managed to break
free as he was being taken to be processed in the Third District located
at 1620 V Street, NW. He made good his escape.
He is described as a black male, 19 years-old, 5'7" tall, 140 pounds,
medium complexion with brown eyes and black hair worn in cornrows. He
was last seen wearing a beige sweater, dark pants and white shirt. He
is known to carry a handgun.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts or sees him should take
no direct action but call the Department's Crime
Solvers Unit at 1-800-673-2777. All calls to Crime Solvers are confidential.
If a caller provides information which leads to the capture of Thomas,
he/she will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
