The department is proud to announce the implementation of its new Police Cadet Program . The program is considered an entry-level position into a career in law enforcement. Cadets will work part-time in support positions throughout the department while attending college at the University of the District of Columbia to pursue an associate's degree. The tuition is funded by the department while cadets start at a salary of $11,693 and receive health benefits, vacation, sick and holiday leave.
