At approximately 12:02 on the Tuesday, May 29, 2001, officers from the Third District responded to the 2800 block of Sherman Avenue, NW to investigate the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival on the scene officers located a male subject lying in the parking lot of a gas station located in that block. The subject who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds was transported to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit where he was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m.

The victim in this case has been identified as 28 year-old Jason Renarda Faison of the 600 block of Edgewood Street, NE.

The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a $10,000 REWARD to anyone that provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
