At approximately 6:00 a.m., on the morning of Wednesday, March 22, 2000, a male victim was shot inside of 1336 Missouri Avenue, NW. He was inside the address, when a man brandishing a handgun shot him in the abdomen.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect demanded money from the victim, who refused, and a struggle ensued and the victim was shot. The victim, whose identity will not be released because he is a witness, was transported to an area hospital and admitted for treatment.

The Fourth District's Violent Crimes Unit is seeking the public's assistance in locating 21-year-old Mr. Dotun Badewa (pictured here). His last known address is the 6000 block of Thirteenth Place N.W. He has been charged with a Superior Court warrant charging him with Aggravated Assault while Armed and is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He is described as a black male, six feet tall, 160 lbs with dark skin and a cornrow hairstyle. The suspect may have tattoos on both of his arms.
