Homicide On Ames Street, NE

On Thursday, April 27, 2000, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the Sixth District responded to the 5000 block of Ames Street, NE to investigate the report of a man being beaten by several subjects. Upon arrival, they discovered a male suffering from blunt force trauma lying in front of 5022 Ames Street. DCFD medics were then summoned to the scene.

The victim was transported to D.C. General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.

The case is currently under investigation by detectives of the Sixth District . Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 202-727-4515 or the D.C. Crime Solvers Unit at

The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a TEN THOUSAND-DOLLAR REWARD to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide, committed in the District of Columbia.
