Police Investigate Shooting at 14th & C Streets, SE

At approximately 10:49 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2000, officers of the First District were called to a local area hospital for the report of three gunshot victims. Upon arrival on the scene officers were advised that the victims drove themselves to the hospital. First District detectives are investigating the possibility that this shooting my have occurred in the vicinity of 14th & C Streets, SE.

The first victim was found suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the right arm, thigh, and groin and was admitted in serious condition. The second victim suffered from two apparent gunshot wounds to the side and was also admitted in serious condition. The third and final victim was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. He was admitted and listed in critical condition. The names of the victims are being withheld because they are considered witnesses in this case.

Two handguns and thirty grams of crack cocaine were recovered from the car that was occupied by the victims. The case is currently under investigation by detectives of the First District. All calls to the Crime Solvers Unit are confidential and a caller need not give his or her name. If the information provided to the Crime Solvers Unit leads to an arrest and indictment that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
