At
approximately 9:15 last night (Tuesday, May 23, 2000) officers from the
Sixth District were called
to the 800 block of 46th Street, N.E. for a report of a shooting. Upon
their arrival they located a 22-year-old male suffering from multiple
gunshot wounds to the body. He was taken to an area hospital and admitted
in critical condition. His name is being withheld because he is considered
a witness in this case.
Officers later learned that this victim was possibly shot along with another
person in the 4600 block of Hunt Place, N.E. The second victim, identified
as 15-year-old Marcus Moutes of the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road
in Capital Heights, Maryland, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds
to the body had been taken by private auto to D.C. General Hospital where
he was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m.
The case is currently under investigation by detectives assigned to the
Sixth District. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR
REWARD to anyone who provides information which leads to an arrest
and conviction of person(s) responsible for any homicide committed in
the District of Columbia.
